Membership
George House Trust is a membership organisation. Having members is one of the things that makes us unique as a voluntary organisation. Members attend the Annual General Meeting and elect the Board of Trustees for the year. You must be a member to become a Trustee and part of the Board.
Voting rights
Members are able to vote on any major strategic decisions for the organisation, at the Annual General Meeting and special meetings held during the year. Membership is free and an opportunity to influence the strategic direction of the organisation. We keep membership under review to make sure it is working well.
Apply to become a member
To become a member you must:
• Be a George House Trust service user (includes HIV positive people, carers, family) OR
• Be a current volunteer who is actively involved in the organisation AND
• Be able to attend the Annual General Meeting, or to vote by post AND

Two thirds are living with HIV
We aim to have around 100 members, with two-thirds of our members being people living with HIV. We will select people randomly if too many apply. Candidates have to be confirmed by the Board of Trustees, and the Board will seek a good balance of members to represent all our service users.
