Positive Speakers Programme
One in three people living with HIV have experienced HIV related discrimination at some time in their lives and the Positive Speakers’ Programme forms part of GHT’s ongoing work to challenge HIV-related stigma.
We have secured funding from the Equalities and Human Rights Commission, to develop an awareness raising training and information programme, using trained speakers, who are living with HIV.
The programme will target schools, colleges, universities, voluntary organisations and employers.
People will discuss their personal experiences of living with HIV, and dispel a number of the myths that still exist. Talks can be tailored to suit the knowledge requirements of the group, for example it can include a session on the basics of HIV.
If you are interested in arranging a talk from a Positive Speaker, please get in touch to discuss your requirements.
If you are living with HIV and are interested in becoming a Positive Speaker, please get in touch and we can provide more information on the programme and the training and support available.
