A big thank you to all our supporters at Pride 2008!
Yet again we had a massive presence over the Pride weekend, none of which would have been possible without the help of our volunteers, service users and supporters.
Our “What’s your attitude” campaign was the main feature of our parade entry, attracting lots of attention from the general public watching the parade. We also challenged people’s attitudes over the weekend at the Expo stall within the Pride site, and received a huge number of signatures to our pledge “I’m positive about HIV”.
Various fundraising events took place over the weekend to support George House Trust, including collections at Waterstone’s bookstores and various events at Love Saves the Day cafes. In total we raised just under £1,500 our community fundraising.
The weekend culminated in our candlelit vigil on the Monday night in remembrance of those that we have lost to HIV. Over 4,000 people attended the vigil, enjoying a performance from Heather Small and various speakers it was a memorable evening.
