Velvet - Glee Tops £719!

Velvet Hotel and bar's purple initial logoDon't Stop Believing! at Velvet bar, Manchester last night raised a wonderful £719.33 at a packed and highly enjoyable evening. This benefit was arranged by Velvet hotel and bar on Canal Street and featured special guests Scooch who did glee! Scooch sang their classic hits and tunes from glee plus glee bingo and glee quiz games, all made for a great night.

All the proceeds from this event, including donations at the door (entry was free) were for George House Trust in our 25th anniversary year. The £719.33 raised included a good number of £20 notes.

George House Trust is very grateful to all those who came, enjoyed themselves and showed their appreciation and support for George House Trust so generously.

Taurus Bar raises £692 for GHT!

Taurus logoTaurus Bar on Canal Street are longtime supporters of George House Trust and their collection at the Ladyboys of Bangkok night on Tuesday raised a massive £692.

The money will help us to continue providing vital support to people living with and affected by HIV in the North West.

Saturday Space is our monthly Saturday afternoon service for anyone living with HIV in NW England. Our next Saturday Space will be on the afternoon of 17 July and features a relaxing afternoon of pampering.

Saturdays Space includes light refreshments, and we will refund travel expenses for those who qualify and show a valid ticket. There are more details about who can claim for travel expenses here
 

Please note there is no crèche or facilities for children at Saturday Space.

Disclosure Workshop - Telling Others

quiet conversation outside in the sunshine between two peopleCome along and take part in this interactive workshop about the who, why, when and how of telling people about your HIV status. The evening will be an opportunity to learn from other people’s experiences of disclosure - and to share what you’ve learned from telling others about having HIV.

  • Who should I disclose to?
  • When should I tell?
  • Why should I tell?
  • How should I tell others?
  • Where is a good place to tell?
  • What are the advantages and disadvantges? 

This interactive workshop will be led by Colin Armstead and Daniel Murphy, both Service and Development Managers at George House Trust.
