posted: 13/10/2011
George House Trust has received funding to develop it's work with African men with African Men's Adviser Mike Mpofu leading on this exciting work.
Mike would like to invite Positive African men who are known to GHT to a group meeting on Saturday 19th November at George House Trust - the meeting is from 12.30 pm until 3 p.m. There'll be African food and music.
It is really important that for positive African Men to come along, so that they can let Mike know what you want from services at George House Trust.
For further details, contact mike@ght.org.uk or ring him on 0161 274 5662.
Food will be served and we will reimburse your travelling expenses

World AIDS Day, 2011
posted: 23/09/2011
World AIDS Day is marked on the 1st December all over the World – raising awareness and raising money for people living with HIV and AIDS. The noise that we make about HIV and AIDS on this international day is vitally important, as it challenges stigma and discrimination too.
How can you get involved?
Hold a fundraiser
You may choose to fundraise at your workplace or with a local community group.
As a basic fundraising package, this year George House Trust can provide you with Red Ribbons, Collecting tins and HIV awareness leaflets and postcards
If you are interested in fundraising, then contact us with a rough idea of how many people you want to fundraise with.
Sell our red ribbons in your shop or café
If you would be interested in selling red ribbons in aid of GHT, we can provide you with a counter display box and collecting tin. Contact us to arrange.
Volunteer!
Every year - we’re out on the streets selling red ribbons in Manchester city centre with our team of volunteers. If you are interested in joining us on the streets of Manchester, then get in touch.
Attend the Candlelit Vigil
Also in December we organise a candlelit vigil in Sackville Park / Gardens in Central Manchester which is an opportunity to remember those people we have lost to HIV. Any proceeds from the Vigil go to organisations supporting local people living with HIV.

Manchester Pride 2011, a Message from GHT
posted: 23/08/2011
Is it really that time of year again? Manchester Pride is fast approaching and there's only a few days now until the Big Weekend.
For the last few months we have been preparing for what we hope will be another successful and memorable campaign. This year our campaign - to tie in with the ‘Best of British’ theme of Pride 2011 - is ‘I Heart GHT’.
We decided on our slogan earlier in the year and it may look familiar to you given the recent riots which unfolded recently in Manchester and across the country.
Shortly after these events the ‘I Heart Mcr’ campaign took off. We fully support this campaign and what it stands for and we're proud to be part of this fantastic city.
We hope that our 'I Heart GHT' campaign complements the other similar campaigns that are around at the moment. We want to make sure that everyone knows about our services and how proud we are of them!
We look forward to seeing you on the Parade, at our stall in the Expo or at the Candlelit Vigil in Sackville Gardens on Bank Holiday Monday.
Have a happy, peaceful and safe Manchester Pride 2011 - from all of us at GHT.

Pre-Pride Event @ Gay Men’s Space
posted: 08/08/2011
Monday 22nd August
5pm – 8pm
Let’s get this party started! It’s the run up to Manchester Pride so to mark the occasion we’ll be looking back at Prides gone by.
Do you have any memories or memorabilia you would like to share such as old photographs perhaps?
If so, bring them along to the pre-Pride event. We’ll also be having a quiz and a display of some of GHT’s archive of photographs and past campaigns.
The Gay Men’s Space is open to any gay or bisexual man living with HIV in the North West of England.
