African Men’s Calabash provides a safe and comfortable place to chat and socialise with other African men who are living with HIV.
• Light snacks, tea and coffee are provided.
• Travel expenses are paid for those on a low income. Contact the office if you need more details.
• George House Trust volunteers and staff are on hand if you need them

Parenting

Have you got questions about parenting, or do you just want to learn how to spend more quality time with your kids? Andy O’Brien (George House Trust) will be talking you through some new ideas and there'll also be a guest speaker (to be confirmed)
Immigration Issues
31st March 2012 from 1pm to 4pm
This session will focus on fresh claims, legacy cases, family reunions and other issues.
There'll also be a guest Speaker from Greater Manchester Immigration Aid Unit
Sex and Relationships
26th May 2012 from 1pm to 4pm
This session will focus on having happy fulfilling relationships and sex, when living with HIV. The session will be run by Mike Mpofu (African Men’s Adviser) and there'll also be a guest speaker (to be confirmed).
Confidence building, assertiveness and managing stress
28th June 2012 5.30pm to 7.30pm
Ever feel like you are not in control? Or too shy to give your oppinion on things? This session aims to empower you with new ways to feel more confident, to get what you want from life and to minimise your stress. The session will be run by Mike Mpofu (African Men’s Adviser) and Jawad Mahboob (BHA)
HIV and Treatments Information Session

Are you thinking about starting HIV treatment? Are you already on medication, but just want to learn more? This session will provide an opportunity to understand more about treatments for HIV and to ask any questions you may have. Employment and Skills Boosting session
25th August 2012 from 1pm to 4pm
Are you looking for work, but never seem to get the job? Are you thinking of improving your skills so that you can get work or change your career? This session will look at teaching you some new techniques when applying for jobs and also new ways to boost your skills.
